The Samford Crimson

As the Public Relations Manager for the Samford student newspaper, I oversee our social media presence, cultivate awareness both on campus and within the surrounding community and write compelling stories.

Here are the stories that I have written.

Awards I have won for my work include:

Best Advertising Staffer (3rd) 2025 South Eastern Journalism Conference

Best Multi-media Ad Campaign (HM) 2025 College Media Association

Best Single-media Ad (HM) 2025 College Media Association

Here is different merchandise I designed for the paper.

Since I took over our social media in August 2024, I've boosted engagement by creating fun graphics, lively videos, and interesting posts that showcase The Crimson's stories and people. We have gained over 500 new followers on Instagram and 200 on TikTok in my time as PR Manager. My goal has been to make our feed visually appealing and engaging, encouraging interaction and keeping our content fresh. Each post aims to tell exciting stories that connect with our audience and inspire them to engage. The energy in our community is amazing, and I’m excited to keep this momentum going! Here is the link to our Instagram.

I designed these posters and posted them all over campus.

I made a brand standards guide for the newspaper.

Uptick Marketing

During this semester, I have been an Intern for Uptick Marketing. Working for their ads team, I have learned many invaluable things about the industry and have had the opportunity to do hands on work for clients and Uptick. I have worked heavily with Google Ads to help with client’s search engine optimization or SEO, written copy for social posts, conducted competitor research, and more.

One exciting project I tackled was developing a full-fledged campaign for a fictional skincare brand called Glow Haven Skincare. This challenge let me put all my internship learnings into action by crafting a strategic plan designed to attract fresh customers and ramp up e-commerce sales. The campaign included a deep dive into competitive ad analysis, clearly defined ad goals and KPIs, innovative ad tactics, a detailed execution roadmap, plus a carefully planned budget and timeline.

Here are two fun and colorful infographics I created to showcase the variety of media packages that Uptick proudly offers to its clients.

I competed in the 2025 Effie Collegiate Competition, where my team created an advertising campaign for Amazon Prime aimed at Gen Z. Through research on trends and Gen Z behaviors, we crafted a campaign that resonated with our audience and met our goals, showcasing our creativity and understanding of market dynamics while positioning Amazon Prime as essential for younger consumers. Cultivating Partnerships in Ghana

This past semester I had the opportunity to work with the nonprofit organization, Cultivating Partnerships in Ghana. My partner and I designed and launched a modern website, told their story, showcased their impact, enabled community engagement, and laid the groundwork for future fundraising.

This campaign successfully achieved its goal of giving Cultivating Partnerships in Ghana a vibrant, functional digital presence. The website not only showcases the heart of our mission but also positions the organization to grow its network, increase its funding, and engage supporters from around the world.

As a result, Cultivating Partnerships in Ghana now has:

  • A central hub for communications,

  • A gateway to global support, and

  • A foundation for future digital campaigns and partnerships.
